Exhibition & Sample Connection

Many of our sample projects start from exhibitions — where brands meet our team, share ideas, and immediately start sampling discussions.

At exhibitions, we provide:

  • On-site fabric & material preview
  • Discuss samples directly with our technical team
  • Initial MOQ & cost discussion
  • Design feasibility evaluation
  • Sampling roadmap planning

What Garment Sample Development Includes

Our sample support provides end-to-end service from tech pack development and pattern making to first sample creation and fit adjustments, with fabric selection and production feasibility reviewed throughout.

Garment Sample Development Flow

Garment Sample Development Steps

Pattern plotting equipment and worktables in the development workroom.

Pattern-work reference: confirm the base size, measurement chart, construction and current tech pack revision before cutting.

Worktables and sewing equipment in the sample development workroom.

Sample-room reference: review fit, sewing and garment details on the actual project sample. A room image does not establish approval or testing results.

Garment Sample Development: Sample Types

We develop prototypes for each approval stage, including development, fit, sales, size-set and pre-production samples (PPS).

Our team supports each stage of prototype development, from development, fit, sales, size-set, and pre-production confirmation samples to help identify and resolve issues before bulk production.

Why Brands Choose STX Sample Support

STX connects streetwear development with OEM/ODM manufacturing to identify fit, material and construction issues before bulk production. Sample approval reduces avoidable production changes.

Garment Sample Development by Approval Stage

  • Development sample: Review the concept, construction and proposed materials.
  • Fit sample: Check measurements, balance, silhouette and wearer fit.
  • Sales sample: Support collection presentation with agreed appearance and materials.
  • Size set: Review grading across the agreed size range.
  • Pre-production sample (PPS): Confirm the intended bulk materials, decoration, trims and workmanship before production.
  • Production confirmation sample: Verify the agreed production details for the order.

Garment Sample Development: Before Bulk Approval

Keep a written sample review covering measurement tolerances, fabric composition and GSM, wash or shrinkage behavior, artwork placement, trims, labels and packaging. Record revisions against the current tech pack so the factory and brand work from the same approved specification.

Connect the sample to product development, fabric, craftsmanship and private labels. The approved specification supports OEM/ODM bulk manufacturing at our Dongguan factory.

Garment Sample Development: What Should an Approval Record Include?

Use a sample reference, date and tech pack revision so the brand and factory can identify the same garment. Record front, back and close-up photos, measurement results at the agreed points, fit comments and any fabric, decoration, trim or label issue. Mark each item as approved, requiring revision or awaiting confirmation. A photograph alone cannot confirm hand feel, fit or measured performance.

Confirm which stage is being approved. A development sample may explore construction; a size set reviews grading; a pre-production sample should represent the agreed production specification. Ask whether the sample uses substitute materials and which details still need confirmation. Keep written corrections and the final approved reference together before releasing bulk work.

Prepare your brief with our garment sampling process guide and tech pack guide. Include proposed care instructions, referring to GINETEX care-symbol guidance when discussing the appropriate garment checks.

Garment Sample Development: Cost and Timing

Sampling scope, charges and schedule depend on pattern work, fabric readiness, decoration tests and revision rounds. Confirm what is included in the quotation and when the development clock starts. Compare MOQ and bulk pricing before moving from samples to a production order.
