Apparel Product Development: Can I Start Without a Tech Pack?
Start with reference images, intended fit, wearer profile, fabric direction, target quantity and budget. Identify which specifications are still missing before quoting sample work. A moodboard is a starting brief; measurements, construction, artwork positions and the BOM need to be documented and reviewed before the design can be approved for production. Apparel Product Development: What Happens When a Sample Changes?
Record each requested correction against the sample and tech pack revision. Include the measurement point, intended change and any artwork, fabric or trim change. Confirm the effect on cost and timing, then review the revised sample. Keep the final approved measurements, materials, construction and packing instructions together so production works from the same reference.

How is product development different from design support?
Design support helps document the concept. Apparel product development coordinates the fabric, BOM, pattern, fit, decoration and sample revisions needed to approve that concept for manufacturing. Confirm the exact scope for your project.
Can I change fabric or decoration after approving a sample?
Request a feasibility review before making the change. A different fabric, wash or decoration can alter fit, appearance, cost and timing. Update the BOM and tech pack, agree any new checks and approve a revised sample when the change affects the finished garment.
How are development fees and sample rounds quoted?
Request separate line items for specification work, patterns, material sourcing, samples and revisions. Confirm the number of included rounds, additional revision charges and deliverables. Lead time depends on brief completeness and material availability; agree milestones rather than assuming every design follows the same schedule.
